Good point Hugh; I did wonder as I never remember the Scops sitting on the PP but frequently on the Pollentia at the rear. The Pollentia seems to have been modernised and has loud live music most evenings so quite different customers nowdays! Some good music mind you when listening from 7th...- Matthebirder

5 Oct cont'd; Son Real, further viewing of at least 1 Two-tailed Pasha from the car park/duck enclosure. Water Treatment works (Albufera); 2 Caspian Terns for 10 mins at 17:00; very vocal. 5 Oct; Tenelles this morning; 15-20 Griffons and 1 Black Vultures. On the dragonflies front at the corner water tank, no sign of the male Orange - winged Dropwing in 30 mins despite many other dragonflies . A lot of Robins, many singing!- Matthebirder

4 Oct morning at Son Real with a good 90 mins in the bird hide overlooking the drinking pool; steady stream of Goldfinches, Linnets, Greenfinches plus a few Serins, Blackcaps. 2 Oct cont'd ; Water treatment works -Albufera mid afternoon. Black-necked Grebe, Peregrine and what I'm trying to convince myself was a Black Kite, though was looking into sun virtually. It Was attacked by a RedKite so compared alongside.- Matthebirder

2 0ct, Albufera all day, 6+ Wood Sandpipers around the scrapes near centre. A Bar-tailed Godwit commuting about with stilts, several Greenshanks and 2 Dunlin. Arrived Sat mid-day on an on-time Jet2 flight for once! On to PP to my usual hotel. A lazy afternoon but a gathering of 23 very tame Audouin's on the beach in front of the Pollensa Park hotel was a nice start; one subadult of interest. A Turtle Dove and Sandwich Tern too.- Matthebirder

Mike The gulls look like juv YLGs; were there any adults around for size comparison? Are you seeing any black-backed gulls around ; these would be worth checking through carefully just in case any more African Cape Gulls are drifting around. There was one in Nice earlier in the year.
