    8 foot from a Jay

I think there are around 8 of them living in the little woody area behind my Dads house. They visit between 4 and 9 times a day, the most nuts one of them grabbed was 27 in one go. Saw a great scrap the other day between 2 magpies and a Jay, the Jay came out better off and the magpie has lost...

    8 foot from a Jay

My dad and myself were standing in his back garden earlier today and a Jay flew in, took a few nuts and left. I was amazed. I know it doesnt sound much to most of you but I hadnt even seen a Jay until 3 months ago, lol We nicknamed him Homer because he was fat and a little clumsy. I read Jays...

Great photo. I think the Jay has such intelligent looking eyes. I read somewhere that several varieties of oak depend on Jays for their survival.

Hello All, Im a newbie to the forum. I live on a large council estate in South Manchester and I have just started 'Backyard Birding'. My dad lives round the corner from me and his house backs on to some scruffy woodland and then the M56 motorway. He has at least five Jays regularly visiting his...
