Recs for India in Late November?

Thanks for your insight, Bruce. At this point we've settled on Assam (Kaziranga and around) but are already looking forward to planning a second trip that will include Corbett. I was not aware of Haridwar but will add it to our list. Much appreciated!

Hi @dandsblair, thanks for your reply, and appreciate the favorable appraisal of your time at Corbett. Wallcreeper and Ibisbill both dream birds indeed! Did you have a guide at Corbett/Nainital or go it alone?

Recs for India in Late November?

Hi all, hoping to pick the Forum's brain about birding in India in mid- to late-November. My wife ("bird adjacent," let's say) and I will be making our first trip to India. Thanks Thanks for your reply. Both species occur in Taiwan, but Black-faced Bunting is reasonably common on migration, uncommon to scarce at other times of year. Masked Bunting is an island-wide rarity with very few records, though it is probably overlooked due to its similarity to Black-faced...

Japanese white-eye, lowland white-eye or something else?

Agree with Swinhoe's White-eye, which is far and away the expected species in and around Taipei. Warbling White-eye occurs only at a couple of coastal sites and on outer islands, and there are no Lowland White-eye records on Taiwan proper, only on Lanyu.

    Masked/Black-faced Bunting - Taipei, Taiwan; 3/25/2023

Hi all, looking for some help with identification of two buntings observed a couple of days ago in an agricultural area on the outskirts of Taipei. The male in particular struck me as significantly yellower below than most of the Black-faced Buntings I'm used to seeing around Taipei. I was also...
