    Spiny Hooktip (Watsonalla uncinula)

Nothing hatched as yet but I have found a Spiny Hooktip photo from my garden from 13th September 2022 pre-dating the first current official record by over two years. (But I am aware of other apparent photos back to 2020.) That pic attached with one of the recent gendetted ones. All the best Paul

    Spiny Hooktip (Watsonalla uncinula)

I think that this is just about knowledge & experience. Spiny Hooktip is not in the mainstream literature & is generally rather pigeon-holed in descriptions. So in circumstances where gendetting has clarified that it is in fact a resident British species locally, it is about opening our eyes to...

    Spiny Hooktip (Watsonalla uncinula)

I have labelled up 6 Watsonalla Hooktips for delivery to our County Recorder for gendet this week. That will mean either confirmation or rewriting this thread! I think that the number of gendetted individuals now has escaped a lot of individuals who do not realise that it is around ten minimum...

That autumn, I had two gendetted examples on 18th October 2023 from my garden in Clevedon & there were other gendetted examples from Bristol, Weston-super-mare & Cardiff. During this year, I am aware of other...
