Another visit today to Vilafranca in glorious weather. I spotted a 'different' Harrier flying around. My initial thought was Montagu's Harrier and I took a few lousy photos when it landed on the ground for 25 mins next to the tree which the Iberian Grey Shrike uses. But on checking my reference...

Dolores keeps reminding me 'It's not all about Birding' so Tuesday was a cultural and historical day out to Raixa Estate. Well worth a visit! At the roundabout almost there, 2 Booted Eagles flew very low overhead so I quickly parked off road for nice views. Then, whilst parking up a Pied...

Arrived Pollença 7 p.m on Friday and the first bird in Mallorca I saw, apart from the obligatory Red Kite on Ma13, was a quartering Barn Owl at Can Cuirassa which I watched for 5 mins. (and well bitten by mozzies as well). Saturday off to see the Iberian Grey Shrike at Vilafranca which showed on...

Ref: Pine Martin Twice last year and once this year I nearly ran over Pine Martin always at early dawn driving south out of Pollença. They have this strange bounding walk/run. And got a great view of one in front of the hide at Son Real 3 weeks ago at midday.

I didn't see one RC Pochard on my last visit Chris. (9 days ago).Maybe because of moulting or perhaps because it was 38 c and they were sensibly taking cover unlike me or I simply didn't look hard enough? But I did count 150 Glossy Ibis just in Sa Roca 1, not to mention all the others in...

I seem to remember last year having a similar problem downloading your report Stew 🤣. Ok, so you're not a tecky but you Do know how to write a report. A good read, well written and illustrated, and especially so for those visiting the north of the island for the first time. I only wish I had a...

Hi Karl, we had a good walk around Punta de n'Amer 2 weeks ago (even to the very tip for a bit of a sea watch) and returned via the Monument and near the castle. We heard then saw a Balearic Warbler in the scrub. This spot is very close to Cala Millor. Good luck 🤞 Cheers, Ian

Now back in the UK. My No 1 target bird was Quail, but after 7 visits to Maria de la Salut and Vilafranca not one bothered to pop up it's head nor make just a short flight 😔, not at 6 am, 1 pm, 6 pm. Ok, I/we heard it a dozen times in several places along the ways, but for me that wasn't enough...

Hi Jonny. If you go to Reception and take your Passport or Driving Licence, and give your phone number, you can apply to visit Albufera out of hours. They will give you a pass for the rest of the year. You can then visit before it opens, but the rules have now changed and you can no longer visit...

There are a few ways to enter the Son Real estate from the beach. You can also walk up the Torrent Son Baulo as there is a proper path up as far as...
