    Weird freshwater fish, Bempton pond, E Yorkshire, England

    Bog standard mirror carp, what you are seeing is the 'humped back' that sometimes appears on some fish. There is a strain called 'Italian' where the fish is almost football shape

    I think the only bird on my list that I haven't seen (or possibly did but can't be sure) is corncrake. They were audible on the Nene washes and saw movement in the grass but it could have been anything
