    What could be that substance on the beak of this Oystercatcher. To me it just looks like cement paint or something like that. At the point of the bill it is rubbed off, the same around the nostrel. Also on the feathers next to the bill some substance is visible. Never seen something lijke this.

    Sue and Simon, thanks for your reply! I just wondered what that pale colour on the bill would be, I also thought maybe a juvenile Oystercatcher. But zooming in learned me that a substance is present on the bill, maybe cement paint or something like that. On the tip of the bill the substance is...
