Rock thrush in Sichuan, China, July
That's interesting, I also thought that the shape of the bird was different, almost like a cuckooshrike. This was at Mt. Wawu in central Sichuan. I'm not familiar with any niltava species (haven't seen any) and couldn't find any photos juvenile Chinese vivid niltava. The description I found of...- beijingbabbler

Rock thrush in Sichuan, China, July
Hello, I saw this juvenile thrush like bird in hill forest at about 2000m elevation. It appeared like a rock thrush to me, and the overall shape and bill size makes me think chestnut bellied rock thrush as opposed to blue rock thrush.
