    Am I correct in reading this to mean that you compared a Nikon Monarch 60ED with 30x fixed eyepiece to a Nikon Fieldscope 82ED with 25-75x zoom eyepiece and preferred the former? For almost all birding, I'd agree, but entirely because of the eyepiece. I much prefer a nice easy wide-angle 30x...
