    NL 8x32 Rainguard Alternative

I don't use the objective covers on my 32NL. No actual need for them, much easier to use without. I do like the ocular covers in place when not viewing.

Problem with green coating of EL SV 8x32

I do not work for Swaro either. I have had service when needed from SONA, and I have nothing to complain about. Several threads here on BF provide the avenue for the many who have bad experience, and they can voice their complaints, and their opinions about the complaints. I enjoy the use of...

Problem with green coating of EL SV 8x32

@digiscope09 post # 824. Your tape work is a great idea for an unfortunate situation. While reading this thread I have thought of such a fix, but I would never suggest such

Is it worth buying the new nl 52

It would be interesting to compare 10x52 side by side to 8x42 in 'low light', to determine for my self if more lens area makes a performance difference relative to Exit Pupil value alone. Maybe that question has a known answer, but I don't know.

Is it worth buying the new nl 52

Tend to agree. As to post #15...thought long about a 10x52, and bought the 8x42. Not fussy, and enjoyable

    NL 8x32 Rainguard Alternative

The rain-guard on my NL8x32 was tight fitting. I insisted on using it just as it was, for two years. First personal tweak was placing the rain-guard 'up side down', which made it easier to pry the rain-guard off the oculars with thumb and two fore fingers. During the use time the rubber...

    Completing the quiver? Advice please

This is retrofitted 12x42. The TAS, a new adapter to fit the NL 52. New production NL in all formats will accommodate this adapter. There are many old stock at retailers, that could be re-fit.

    Completing the quiver? Advice please

A second vote to try the NL12x42. Hand held with the FRP, or mounted with monopod. Most excellent quiver completer!

What is everyones favourite Raptor, Wader, Owl, Grouse

Point taken, English is not my first language. The Great Egret is described as a long legged wading bird, not as a Wader.

    Advice for buying binocular

Glad you are satisfied with your choice of binoculars. All that really matters. Probably best not to wonder why there is such a range in pricing.

Good grief, can someone tell me the secret to getting the little NLPure FP strap attachment back on?

Sorry to hear of the damage. The pins do require some practice, but once properly placed, they are secure.

    Decision Time

From a few minutes of viewing through the 14x, I personally could not consider it if not mounted to a tripod. Reviews on YT from guys that routinely use the SLC 15x56 mounted on a tripod, suggest they are completely enamored of the NL14. The 10x52 does give the field of view of the 10x42. I'd...

What did you see in your binoculars today?

@GrampaTom good view. I caught a glimpse of one about 28 years ago in the tall forest on the slope of Mt. Wittenberg while hiking with a buddy on Sky Trail in Point Reyes National Seashore. I only saw it due to my buddy excitedly saying "oh wow Pileated Woodpecker!" Brief sighting...it flew in...

Problem with green coating of EL SV 8x32

Not too many long years ago I had a set of Lange plastic ski boots, very close to first generation, 1969-1970. Very cool boots at the time and the best part was Lange-Flo which enabled a futuristic form fitting inner boot. Problem developed that the plastic liner would split at the heel and...

Review of NL PURE 12x42 with Iphone video sample - 4K

Over the past 3 years I've felt the fore head rest was a necessity with the 12x42. Not an uncomfortable item for me. Over the past two weeks since mounting the 12x42 on a monopod, the forehead rest is left at home, and not missing it. The eyecups now resting under eyebrow/upper eye socket can be...

    Carrying case for Swarovski scopes

@Dominique B. Agree the Marsupial is bulky with padding. I use as storage bag and transporting in vehicle. It would take too much space inside a back pack, however, it could be strapped to the packs' exterior, or with strap slung over shoulder. This mini case is for a straight scope, but...

Binoculars mounted on tripods. What is the use?

@ReinierB I did buy a Sirui L-10 tilt head. works, will give it some use, but Extra weight may outweigh its' usefulness. I'm practicing what @TheBlackGrouse has suggested

    Excellent customer service from Swarovski

biggest time suck is shipping 7+ days each way to west coast. Actual retrofit is "quick turnaround" as long as your not asking for bino services beyond the retrofit.
