    Hi, actually both. Same exit pupil but larger objective aperture means more photons per area unit. But the increases magnification helps too. Joachim

    Hi, for astronomy aperture is king for many reasons, but the main one is that it limits resolution so you can see smaller objects. Provided that your eye's pupils still can widen enough and your skies are dark enough, you also want a wider exit pupil (and thus less magnification) with that...
