    The bird has a white eye ring so I thought it was a female wood duck but the bill is partly yellow which doesn't seem consistent with a wood duck. The mottled white and brownish feathers seem to match a female wood duck however. Any ideas? this bird was in a bird refuge (Sylvan Heights bird...

    I saw this bird sitting on a fence at the Bodie Island Lighthouse. It is one of my favorite photos I took but I don't know what it is. The closest I could come was a gray vireo. I only have the two shots so the back and tail are not shown unfortunately. It seemed to be singing in the first photo...

    Maybe a kind of pigeon? But the white feathers in tail are not consistent with rock pigeon. Maybe a variant? Any help appreciated. Thank you
