    Zeiss Telact

Hello , I recently picked up these nice old pair of Zeiss Telac. So far I believe they are 1913 dated due to the serial number being 235739. I do have quite a few military binos in my collection and from my research I think they are civilian due to the small adjustment knob, the larger one bring...

    Nitschke Genira, Rathenow 6x30 binos

Thank you very much, that's great information, I do think they are 1930s, I have a slightly smaller pair dated 1936 ,ziess shorter, and the construction is very similar, thanks again.

    Nitschke Genira, Rathenow 6x30 binos

Thanks Binastro, I wasn't aware of the sand requirements, that's an education for sure. I've been able to do a sort of job on them and apart from a couple of black spots , I've cleaned them up enough to be able to use them. I don't take them completely apart, I've neither the tools or skills...

    Nitschke Genira, Rathenow 6x30 binos

Thanks for the info....thats a lot to take in. There isn't a reticule in the eyepiece. I have several ww2 german dienstglas service binoculars with the code on them. I suppose if the company was expropriated , does that mean almagated?, in 1945 then its safe to assume these binoculars are...

    Nitschke Genira, Rathenow 6x30 binos

Hi all, picked up these binoculars quite cheap and I'm hitting a brick wall so far. What I know is that the D.R.G.M stamp on the hinge is a sort of patent 'made in Germany ' mark used from the early 20th century up until 1952. I'm not finding any that are the same magnification, 6x30. I don't...

    WZR-70 BINOCULARS

Cheers John that's excellent, I git them relatively cheap and hopefully they don't need much of an internal clean....I'm limited in my abilities....but another nice military pair to add to my collection, thanks again πŸ™‚

    WZR-70 BINOCULARS

Hi all, I've just bought a pair of 6x30 binoculars stamped up with the mark WZR-70, Also the number 31 in a circle plus a serial number. They look military , not unlike the german dienstglas binoculars of WW2, the seller states they are Polish or Russian....any ideas?...I can post photos once...

    E Leitz Wetzlar binoculars

Thanks for the info and my question answered. I personally would never forget this but I'm going to check the heights of the eyepieces, I found I'd ever find the glass to go in the binos....thanks again for the comment πŸ™‚

    E Leitz Wetzlar binoculars

Thanks for the reply, I've heard of a few situations where german binoculars were demilitarised post war, its just I hadn't come across it apart from the defacing of the codes on the metalwork. They are a nice pair of Binos and again thank you for your comment 😊 πŸ˜€

    E Leitz Wetzlar binoculars

Hello I recently purchased a pair of very usable Wetzlar 10x50 ww2 binoculars, maybe slightly out if collimation, I'm more of a military binocular collector but this forum has provided the answer for me in the past πŸ˜€. They are 'dienstglas ' or service glass binos and are marked H/6400, this...

yes i understand what you mean , but looking at the metal at the objective lens end, it is paint, you can see where the black and green paint meet, as for the green on the leatherette, it appears to be underneath, as if the black has been rubbed off. cheers

sunday was the first day I had taken these binoculars out with me when I went walking, the strange thing I noticed is that in 'natural daylight' the areas of the binoculars that look grey on the photos....worn leatherette and around the objective lense end are actually green, I don't know if...

hello all ...again.....right ok....ive checked the binos out in daylight, and I used a pair of 1970's Russian 8x30's and a ww2 pair of german 6x30's. the 'mystery' zeiss pair are definitely only 6x magnification, the comparison was quite notable . hopefully this helps B 3:-)

ok....I don't want to appear to be an idiot......:D but how would I check this?....I suppose by just comparing them to other 6x and 8x binos i have in my collection.....example ...just by looking through them and seeing if they are the same?. its dark now so I will have to do it tomorrow, but I...
