    Zeiss Victory 7x42 FL

"maybe it´s in the eye piece design, maybe it´s in the aberrations - or is it just me?" Something like that. With the SLCs the view is easy.

    Zeiss Victory 7x42 FL

Hi there! Been thinking about selling my 7x42 FL. It seems that it was not made for me. Pics attached. (The pics were not taken by me.) Szabolcs

    Talking nonsense?

Yes, one adjusts the diopter knob for his/her own eyesight. However, to my way of thinking, the plastic ring moves around the +/- scale, the scale itself does not move... Last week I tried two HTs (8x42), none of them had this feature with the knob.

    Talking nonsense?

I didn't take the pic and the bino does not belong to me.

    Talking nonsense?

It might be a defect? Anything to do with quality control?

    Talking nonsense?

"Focus wheel". What an idiot I am! Yes it is the diopter setting dial mechanism. I thought it meant to be horizontal.
  10. Szmako81

    Talking nonsense?

Thought about it as well. In this position it should be horizontal or not?

    Talking nonsense?

Dear Birders, Forgive me if I am wrong, however there might be a defect in the focus wheel or what it is called here in the first picture uploaded!? It does not seem horizontal to me in that pic! Need explanation! The pic is from a site in Austria. The second one is from Tobias Menle. Szabolcs

Zeiss Victory 7x42 FL with LT or the Victory 8x42 HT?

These things are of great concern: "Edge performance. Some FL users have commented on the steep fall off at the edges, which might or might not be an issue for you. If the SLC-HD is similar to the SLC I tried, it has a generous sweet spot and gradual fall off at the edges. If you try them both...

Zeiss Victory 7x42 FL with LT or the Victory 8x42 HT?

It seems that I'll have the opportunity to try the 8x42 HT ín person. Will bring my SLC 8x42 HD and compare the bins side by side.

Zeiss Victory 7x42 FL with LT or the Victory 8x42 HT?

Weight is not a problem. It gives me stability, and wearing a bino harness all the time.
