Swedpat .... is is quite different to have a 3.2mm exit pupil or a 4.2mm or o 5.25 Bino regardless you own eye-pupils are at 2.5mm in a sunny day. In theory seems absolutely right and sound what you say but reality goes other way. NOT a brightness difference but in a easier view field, YES.

    Eye cup troubles

Hi Skippa are those the only binos you have ever used? have you got more experience with other ? My guess is that one of either barrel prism is miss aligned ( no clue what I am saying but...) 8x42 configuration should be the easiest and less stress configuration for your eyes. That is why I...

8.5x42 EL field pro buyers remorse!

Matt Green, you are making a VERY VERY difficult question since you are the only one with the answer. (IT is like YODA from Starwars) Both Excellent binos, you wont regret any. That is the beauty of having the option of different binos and this forum too that we all praise different brands, make...

 Woowww You won the Lottery ? Optics aren´t expensive in Portugal? No really, will take my time to read the link but for sure looks interesting. Never thought of people using telescopes for birding or Color Ring birding as you say.

Give us some insight about that 18x50 IS. Guess this is the one you are talking; Canon 18x50 IS All Weather - Image Stabilisation Binoculars I

    FRP forehead rest wandering position.

As Theri told you, once you place the position you want it should NOT move, neither backwards not forward either. The only way would be by turning the adjustable wheel. In mine at least is what happens.

    NL Pure 10x42 or 10x52

Just a question for those that have used different objective sizes. Don't you notice a difference in "image clarity/crispness" when the light gathered is greater?? Let me explain; Maybe is in my subconscious BUT on bright sunny days the image is more nitid, image is crispier. My perception with...

Get a 12x power if you will use a tripod. If your only option is NL then 12x42. If the ONLY use will be " viewing shipping at distances of 0.5 to 1.5 miles" ...go for a 14x52NL

Is it worth buying the new nl 52

Well can give you advice here BUT I have to warn you that is at your own risk. If you use a silicon based grease, just a little, LITTLE, the rain guards will fit perfectly. Either you apply it around de rain guard or the exterior of the rubber of the ocular. The same goes for the objective...

NL reliability anecdotes / info: I hesitate to link this here, but I think it’s worthwhile

Well you can have it, but I I don't know how you can call company support for thrones, maybe the blacksmith . Since the Swarovski Thrones will not be up to many people standards. :ROFLMAO: If you pay 5 horses for the throne, it should last o whole reign/realm.

NL reliability anecdotes / info: I hesitate to link this here, but I think it’s worthwhile

Well, the eye cups rubber being too soft, happened to me too. I do believe that was caused by the sunscreen I used, that softened the rubber PLUS I have the habitude to cover the lenses EVERYTIME I do not use the binos when I go hiking. WHen I move from a birding spot to the next. That said I...

Amateurs’s thoughts on Zeiss SFL 8x40

That's a very important fact you are mentioning. A zeiss representative, that got company guidance on new products and more company insights, he/she states that both bino categories "are the same, quite similar". HDX and SFL ...well I feel disappointed. So the difference in price are just the...

Amateurs’s thoughts on Zeiss SFL 8x40

Well ... just got a SFL too in 10x30 format and the feel I got from it is what I mention earlier. I am not saying that there is nothing wrong ...well maybe the eye cups which are 100% plastic. But even tough the feel I have is that Swarovski EL can handle a good beat. Have Zeiss SF too and to me...

Amateurs’s thoughts on Zeiss SFL 8x40

My advice too is how well you will treat them. Hunters ( I do not know much since I am not ) you carry much equipment, am I right? With that in consideration that you will throw in a back pack binos and other heavy gear, then I will recommend you ROBUST binos at least in the outer case. That...

If you do not wear orange socks too at the same time, serious birders will recognize that you are amateur and will turn their backs away from you.......so be carefull. You have been warned !!!!!

Roger Vine's review of the Swarovski NL 14x52

Hi John A Roberts, can I ask you about the laser test you did? You just point a laser directly to the objective and depending how it reflects or how many points it shows, you can tell how many glasses has at the front end? It that how to interpret it?
