    Mallorca 2018

Back at my desk today after a few days away. Both Friday and Saturday AM were spent 07:30-10:30 is at S'Aalbufera. 3 Great Reed Warblers and 3 Savi's Warblers about the most unusual things? I had 6 Marbled Teals as well. I thought Savi's wasn't supposed to occur?

    Compatible Swarovski Tripod Heads

I got a new Swarovski tripod head for Christmas, and as has been the case for the past 2 I had got the head seized up and I have decided to never again buy a Swarovski tripod head. However, I am perfectly happy with the current tripod legs. What other heads will fit onto my Swarovski tripod...

Some local discussion on this bird, however I'd be interested to hear from our friends across the pond in NA about this potential Blue-winged Teal (or hybrid). Pics: http://birdingsometimes.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/definitely-maybe.html Cheers,

The birds & wildlife of Gateshead

I don't think anyone doubts that Michael. However the law is the law regarding rare breeding birds. It is even criminal to take photographs of Little Terns at the breeding enclosure at Crimdon, I think thats a little silly but then thats the law.

Hi Michael, Its a LBBGull, on the primaries the spots are more evenly spaced on adult YLG and also the mantle shade is dark on this bird, just a little too dark for YLG which should be a similar shade to Common Gull. Hope this helps? Cheers,

Iceland Gull Adult present this afternoon, this time close! It then got chased (as video shows) and went to rest on South Pier. A really smart bird, no doubt the returner. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaUAoHnDA5Y Video is hardly Spielberg's work, but thought I'd post it anyway.

Hi Ray, Where about on the headland are you seeing the Glaucous Gull (out of interest)? I saw it off the gun battery a few weeks ago but I think its now more toward the Fish Quay area? Keep your eye out for a Ross's Gull! :t: Cheers,

I imagine for Newcastle it would be Kielder Forest, their presence there is common knowledge so its okay for me to post it here. As I normally don't with rare breeders.
