    Nepal February/March 2025

We are thinking of going to Nepal next year. Any advice or suggestions of guides would be very welcome, please. No trekking - I'm too old! 😂

Ann and Roland Go Birding in North west Argentina. September 2022

Thank you. I'm glad you found it to be excellent. We have now booked two more tours with Clark Expediciones for next year: the Pantanal and area at the end of June then Patagonia in December. I hope you enjoy your trip too - we love Argentina! There is some very impressive scenery. I also hope...

Ann and Roland go relaxed birding in Texas and Arizona July/August 2024

It was indeed a fantastic trip and just what we needed as we were both recovering from surgery! Thank you for correcting the information about the Lesser goldfinches - it could be my memory that was at fault! I was really annoyed about missing the Red-headed woodpecker :( Others saw it but i...

That must have been awesome! A bit too adventurous for us though doing it that way!

Ann and Roland go relaxed birding in Texas and Arizona July/August 2024

We spent 3 weeks in Texas and Arizona travelling from Houston through to Phoenix via Uvalde, Big Bend, Davies Mountains, Portal and many other memorable spots. Loved every minute.

    Cairns Area Bird Guides

Sicklebill have let us down significantly. We even made a special trip to Bird Fair this year just to see them and clarify matters but to no avail. Avoid!

We were there in August. Absolutely loved the area and interesting to read what you saw and where.

Contact Phuc Lee at Vietnam Birding Tours. He set up the hides there.

Are there companies which organize self-driven tours?

I'm sure they'll be helpful with that. Sicklebill might be good to contact too. We talked to a few different companies at Bird Fair about where to go - Australia is so vast it's hard to know where to start! Good luck with your planning and trip.

Are there companies which organize self-driven tours?

We like the itinerary but it doesn't include much guiding and they have indicated that it is very expensive to hire a guide in Australia. Car hire and most meals are not included in the cost either, so factoring these in means the cost would be a lot more than we would want to pay.

Are there companies which organize self-driven tours?

Naturetrek will do this. We know, because they have done one for us! We probably won't use it though.

What trousers do you wear in the current UK cold snap?

Indeed. My garden is only fit to plant rice in now.

What trousers do you wear in the current UK cold snap?

We have been down there a few times visiting family but it costs us a fortune. We could have a fortnight birding somewhere warm for the same price as a weekend in Devon :ROFLMAO:

    Exciting times! Whereabouts are you?

What trousers do you wear in the current UK cold snap?

I wear M&S tights under my trousers. They work wonders - supposed to keep you warm when it's cold and cool when it's hot. It is good to be out and about at this time of year when everything's coming to life again. Good to blow the cobwebs away too but having just returned from Vietnam, it feels...

What trousers do you wear in the current UK cold snap?

I am like you and cover up well. No-one has been generous enough to have gifted me some Paramo trousers but I do have some good Rohan ones and avoid going out in extreme weather 😉 Sometimes it is definitely not good to be out! Good to know though that your birthday trousers are keeping you dry...

What trousers do you wear in the current UK cold snap?

I have only just come across this post but can add that my husband wears shorts and sandals with no socks wherever we are, whatever the weather!!! Yes, even up high in the Sichuan snow! His current shorts are from Decathlon if that's any use! :ROFLMAO:

Aratinga in Costa Rica are great. We have used Pieter twice now and have another tour booked round Christmas time. Extrely good prices too.

Ann and Roland Go Birding in South East Africa

We went to the Cape Area in 2017 and our excellent and very enthusiastic guide recommended the south eastern area for our next trip which we finally got round to organising last year. It had always been on my Wish List to go to Kruger so I was really looking forward to this. Did it live up to my...
