    First pairs of binoculars - travel

    Getting a small-fragile pocket bino for something as demanding as the types of travel you describe sounds like a bad idea. I'd recommend getting something armored and durable. I think you could have a lot of fun with the apm ed 6x30 which happen to be center focused porro prism binos...
