    We were in Oman in November and had bins and a thermal scope in my hand luggage. No questions, no problems. It was very useful in finding owls.

    This Sykes Nightjar seems to be a long-staying bird. I also heard a theory that it may be a regular winter visitor to Oman but overlooked.
