    Apparently eating about 10 common tern chicks a day, chicken wire not a barrier for them! It struggled to swallow this chick, so it dumped it on the ground and snapped off the legs and had another go.

    You have to take a squirrel pic at Brownsea. I was stood under a beech tree and I thought this little guy was going to run up my trouser leg. Last time I saw a wild one was 40 years ago on our farm in N. Ireland.

    What a cracking picture and one of my favourites. I find them very shy and elusive when I visit home near Derry in N. Ireland, impossible to get any kind of picture of, never mind one as wonderful as this. Congratulations.

    There was a barnacle goose reported in this area I thought this might be it in winter plumage or something but it doesn't match RSPB id. Is it just some sort of hybrid? Mary
