    Looking at James lowens gateway to British moths the most likely seems to be box tree moth.

    I just flushed a large ( seemed around meadow brown size) moth from my lawn. It paused for a second on my buddleia before flying off out of view. It seemed to have white wings with a dark blue or black border running all around and the way it briefly sat gave the impression of a white diamond...
