ZEISS 8x32 Victory SF or Swarovski 8x32 NL Pure

I had the same desicion to make some weeks ago. If you're really only deciding between the SF and the NL, you need to hold them both in hand for some time, no way around. For my small hands, the NL Pure was much better and also I had some blackouts with the Zeiss. Optically, the NL was slightly...

    Breeding Peregrine Falcon webcam

https://rathausturm-wanderfalken.de/ Our two peregrine falcons in Regensburg are nesting again—two eggs have already been laid. You can watch everything live via the link above, and a daily summary is available on the Facebook page: (I hope it’s possible to translate the posts directly)...

Pure NL the right one for me?

Maybe you add this to your "NL's are simply the best!" Thread from half a year ago. I'm out now as I don't face much problems and honestly sick of nerdy discussions without outcome, I rather go out and watch birds 🥸

Pure NL the right one for me?

In my short experience, covering the entrance lens is not solving the problem. It's more like you need to work on the front and simulate lens hoods with your hands.

Pure NL the right one for me?

Hehe 🫡 It's not really often the case luckily. But I'll of course test it further and might also have the chance of trying the Nikon HG soon, too.

Pure NL the right one for me?

No clue, one shop from Netherlands had the orange one for 1.970€ discounted - 300€ off the normal current price. Don't see any B-Stock signs.. I think I know now what people see as permanent glare issues. I have it in the bottom 20% if I look down at that part. Looking straight through the...

Pure NL the right one for me?

I need to revise my choice after a month. Used the Companion nearly every day and I thought that the poor FOV would not matter much, but I always grabbed my (now my wife's) Vortex 8x32 with 140m FOV for comparison (against the 108m of the CL) and was a bit disappointed. Also I was a surprised...

    Go Alpha or upgrade possible?

    How do you calculate efficiency?

    Go Alpha or upgrade possible?

Didn‘t try out other big scopes as this was not my main category to look for. I‘ll also not try to spoil my impression of the Svbony as it‘s good enough for my needs (I don‘t like my formerly loved Vortex Bino anymore after buying the Swaro Companion…). I tested the TSN-501 today against the...

    Go Alpha or upgrade possible?

Might be some practice and the cable tie trick I didn't consider yet, need to try this one out! That Nikon 27/40/50x wide - is this a set of oculars or do I need to chose one of the magnifications? If I get 3 for ~330€, and can switch them if needed, that would be ok for me too I think...

    Go Alpha or upgrade possible?

I'm not sure if I can get along with a fixed magnification. It was very nice to zoom out for finding the birds before zooming in for details.. But seems even the single mag. oculars are behind the FOV of the Swaro?

    Go Alpha or upgrade possible?

Hi all, you might remember me from my search for a Bino where I got a lot of very good input. I'm very pleased with my Swaro 10x30 Companion but had a need for a scope as I'm living directly at the Danube and like to look at the local waterfowl. So i searched the forum and bought a Svbony...

Pure NL the right one for me?

From my experience now, I'd say this is the best answer to my initial question and nothing to add. (y)

Pure NL the right one for me?

I spent an hour this afternoon with the Companion and the SFL on a nearby hill with open landscapes, and I really got to test both binoculars thoroughly. It was so much better than just looking at a test chart in a store, and the decision that had been really tough before became clear pretty...

    Optics Retailers in Munich

I was at Sauter (Sonnenstraße 26) yesterday. Nice collection and friendly staff. Check out their website, everything they have available there is also available at the store.

Pure NL the right one for me?

I just decided to order a SLF 10x30 to compare it live in the field as this indoor comparing was really not that much of a experience, besides comparing the haptics. As for the FOV 108m vs. 120m - I just checked that this is just about 2.5m difference of FOV at my normal spotting distance of...

Pure NL the right one for me?

Well, it was quite a change in the desicion at the Store. Quick summary: I currently have a Companion CL 10x30 for some days and tested it in the field - feels very nice and comfortable, I'd keep it from the feeling. Now I was at a store and tested "my" Companion against the Conquest HDX, SFL...

Pure NL the right one for me?

Thanks for all the advise. I‘ll go to a shop on Tuesday to test the NL 10x32 against the SFL 10x40. Today I had the chance to compare my Vortex against a Swaro CL Companion in 10x30 - already this felt so nice that I preferred to just keep this one, but looking forward trying the „big ones“, too.

Pure NL the right one for me?

Hi guys, I'm no expert birder but I very much like to watch birds in our garden, go out to nature and spot animals on holiday hikes. Especially I just like the use of Binos and coming from Photography I like a sharp and detailed picture. I currently have Vortex Diamondback HDs in 8x32 and...
