    Thank you for including the snake account- great reading! I always hope to see more serpents because I almost never see them. I think one can go out and see quite a few snakes in Costa Rica but only by spending time looking for them instead of birds.

    Thanks especially for reporting on the Poas Volcano Lodge. The area around the lodge and Varablanca are on the top of my list of places to check out as they are fairly close to my house, are somewhat underbirded, and have a lot to offer.     Glad to see you went to Colbert's- such a great place! Yes, during the day, the feeders attract Purple-throated Mountain-gem and Volcano, and Magnificent Hummingbirds.
