    I don't know why people get so hung up on this. There are so many good rubber eyecups on eBay of various internal diameters (e.g. 33mm, 39mm and many others) with wings if required (my preference), that it costs less than £5 to make your own custom solution.

    Some people really like the transparency of Porro prisms with relatively simple optical paths and the extra 3D from the wider spaced objectives. Also a very bright image. I'm considering the 10x40 myself for longer range use where quick focusing won't be as necessary.
