    Thanks Gary, you are so right in fact it is so dark where they hang out it's not easy to identify them at first. As I said I was lucky here, this one came to me. I was surprised how close he came.

    This lovely wren came right to me as I sat in the shade at the small pool at the Lookout Inn. Does this qualify as nesting, thus making it a no-no picture? Beautiful singer!

    Seeing the Chestnut-mandibilled Toucan in the wild for the first time is fantastic and surreal. Such a striking bird. This one was feeding with another along the coast of the Osa Peninsula near Carate.

    These two endangered Scarlet Macaws were in the air over Carate, Costa Rica. We saw as many as 22 in the air at once while visiting the humid rainforests of the Osa Peninsula.

    This Tiger Heron was sitting in a tree along the banks of the mangroves at Damas, Costa Rica. I was able to slowly slip beneath him in my Kayak.
