    Pantanal, Brazil

    We spent a total of 8 days over several sections of the pantanal, with 3 days at Aymara (which was great - Hyacinth Macaw breeding on the lodge grounds). I would recommend spending at least 2 days around Porto Joffre to maximize the chances for Jaguar. A single day could yield great results...

    Should you be going there. several of the lodges along the pantanal had copies for sale in english. I got my copy there in October of 2022.

    The little shop attached to Pousada Piuval (lodge on the transpantaneira) had several copies available (in english) when I was there fall of 2022 (bought mine there). May be worth contacting them and checking if they still have any left (and pick it up at the start of the trip). KR, filip

    Black tinamu, white-streaked antvireo and the east-andean form of crimson-bellied Woodpecker (now split I believe?) at the vereda campucana trail. Chestnut-bellied Cotinga and Masked Mountain Tanager at the Paramo Bordoncillo.
