Is this the true future of binoculars?

ENVISION Smart Binoculars Unistellar have started a kickstarter campaign for augmented reality binoculars. Seems a really interesting development along different lines to Swarovski.

    Swarovski cl 8x30 companion

I bought a pair of the 8x30 CL Companions for a bargain price during the COVID lockdown in 2020. Have loved them since, definately great value for what I paid, Swarovski sorted me out with an extra strap, as I didn't like te one that came with the Urban package. A great comprimise in size...

The Zeiss SFL 8x30 compared with select current 8x30/8x32 roof binoculars

But they are the price that they are, why should I pay more?. And yes people do look at binoculars - we even have threads about it on here🙂

The Zeiss SFL 8x30 compared with select current 8x30/8x32 roof binoculars

Optically they are, however they are not waterproof, have poor eye relief, and fold down rubber eyecups, oir I might have kept mine :) - I own 2 Swaros and a Leica by the way. Just like everything else in this World, there are people who buy expensive binoculars to show off, just like they buy...

Very few Swarovski dealers in the uk according to the website

I've always registered my gear with them. When I needed an extra strap I contacted them in Austria direct - the service was fantastic.

    CL Companion 8x30

I have the CLs as well as some 8.5x42 ELs and 8x20 Trinivids. Because of their combination of size and quality the CLs get by far most use of the three. You will not regret getting one, they are sharp almost to the edge, handle beautifully, and will last a lifetime and beyond. As you can see, I...

    Zeiss SFL 8x30?

I must admit that I do not understand the flak that the CLs seem to get on here, especially by people who have never tried them. I love mine; small, sharp, easy to use, good field of view, great "eye-box", stylish, superb build quality and hold their value. What is not to like :)

New 7x32 binoculars and 7x42 monocular models from Hawke

I suspect that these will be of great interest to a lot on here. Although they are advertised for marine use.

CL Curio 7x21: protection for apparent metal

Mate if you want to abuse people with different opinions then I am out.🙂 Bye bye👋

CL Curio 7x21: protection for apparent metal

Sorry mate, but I stick by my comment. If the metal was so important to you then it is common sense to have an bought the UVs, as opposed to ruining a perfectly good pair on binoculars. Having said that it is your money. Oh, and I do know a fair bit about binoculars, of all types, having used...

CL Curio 7x21: protection for apparent metal

Should've just bought the UVs if the bare metal annoyed him that much🤔 People can be strange.

    Expecting discount??

I am sorry but that 1.5 m difference is not relevant that often. If you can got to within 1.5 m of an animal you can usually get closer and give the bins a miss completely. And I say that knowing that it has become an obsession on the binoculars section of Birdforum. Get a loupe if insects are...

    Expecting discount??

I have had one of the"new" one's for 9 months and I haven't missed the shorter focusing once. Other than that they are identical to the "old" one's and brilliant👍

Leica Ultravid 8x32 HD+ vs Swarovski CL 8x30

They should be better, they are considerably more expensive. They have a different target market.

Prospect of a CL x40/42 soon?

I don't think Swarovski view the CL range as their "entry level", they view it as a spcific range aimed at specific groups, for example, people with a disposable income, who travel a lot and want a high quality product to take with them, or people who very occasionally use binoculars and for...

Leica is not getting the attention it deserves

Oh the irony............ 🙂 As it happens I don't see the "rolling ball", I guess the old adage is "try before you buy", one persons "Alpha" is another's vomit inducing pair of glass and metal tubes😂

    Swarovski EL 8x32 already discontinued?

There does appear to be a business logic to dropping the EL 32s: When the NLs were introduced the price of the 42 and 32 ELs was dropped, so as not to to compete. Swarovski cut the manufacturing costs of the 42s by simplifying the focuser and increasing the close focus. They did not do this to...
