Usutu virus, a threat to Blackbirds?

Even closely related species living in the same habitats can have vastly different responses and susceptibility to a disease. It doesn't surprise me at all that there is a variation here with Usutu.

    Motacilla flava in Spain

I'd go thunbergi over  feldegg. While dark, the head is still grey instead of black and there's the hint of a white moustache. There has been a bit of a  thunbergi influx in recent days- at least two over here in Asturias that I know of.

Norfolk Shark eats Seal (its in the Sun)

How long ago? A decade or so ago they were (I saw several in 2012). But there has been a very well publicised decline in them there because of the Orcas. They've almost entirely disappeared there now.

The main confusion zone for species limits will be around the Gulf of Guinea, particularly Cameroon/Gabon. Far-flung parts of its range, like Uganda will be easier to follow if there are any future tweaks.

Yes, I was forgetting Red Grouse. I think this is probably the best current example that is backed up with genomic data.

Miserable weather this weekend. But I did manage to squeeze out one new one yesterday: 175. Western Yellow Wagtail

    Accipitridae

Dozens probably. Most waiting confirmation via genetic data. Off the top of my head and without any prior research, I bet species such as Scottish Crossbill, MacKay's Bunting, Socotra Buzzard, Cape Verde Buzzard would be in a similar situation.
