New Zeiss binos 8x40 SFL and 10x40 SFL

Yes it’s quite odd seeing her nearly everytime I look at birdforum 😅

New Zeiss binos 8x40 SFL and 10x40 SFL

She had even less time to try them than I did, in the knowledge that we will be getting pairs to test soon she let others look for longer.

New Zeiss binos 8x40 SFL and 10x40 SFL

It didn’t seem to be very different at all, with the caveat that we were sharing a few pairs of bins between 20 people so not really enough time to comment fairly.

New Zeiss binos 8x40 SFL and 10x40 SFL

It does indeed, during the photoshoot we were using one of the first models, and last Monday we were also invited to a ZEISS open day where some of the optics retailers in the Low Countries got to try them for the first time. I currently use the 8x42 SF, before that I had HTs and before that...

New Zeiss binos 8x40 SFL and 10x40 SFL

The ‘model’ is Debby Doodeman, one of Hollands best female birders, who also happens to be my girlfriend 😃. We were invited as ZEISS ambassadors to the photoshoot last year. I will pass on your compliments to her. https://www.fogol.nl/over-fogol Cheers James

The Dutch version of this has arrived, it looks brilliant but haven’t looked at the text in detail yet (although knowing the authors I’m quietly confident it will be excellent). I know an English version is coming, and French, but not sure when they are expected.

I think the double photo ID book by Nils van Duivendijk (at least when there is an English version) will be as important as the Collins and Shirihai and Svensson for those interested in bird ID. cheers James

sorry Andy i had missed this reply from you, unfortunately i didn't miss the vulgar reply you sent that the mods thankfully deleted. And my comment above is meant as a compliment, the fact is Killian Mullarney is better than you, he's better than me, he's better than most of us. The difference...

Hi John, not a title or link but this was the request for photos on DB site, authors listed at the end https://www.dutchbirding.nl/varia/1686/we_need_gulls its been talked about a lot here in the gull world (understandably due to Mars and Peter being involved). For those interested in gull...

this book will be head and shoulders above all others, you only have to look at the reputation of the main authors. Yes other gull guys are good, but seeing who the authors are this will undoubtedly be the best book on gulls for some years to come.
