Nikon 8x42 EDG, ships from Japan, CAD 2,747.78 - Expensive?

Nikon USA customer service has always sucked. Nowadays it sucks worse. Dries method should fix you up.

$1K binoculars experiences - Conquest HD, Monarch HG, Tract Toric, GPO Passion HD, Trinovid HD

It is irrelevant what you believe. What matters is the truth. At least you're open minded about the possibility.

$1K binoculars experiences - Conquest HD, Monarch HG, Tract Toric, GPO Passion HD, Trinovid HD

The Conquest is made in Japan. There are quite a few posts on this around here.

    We don't sell vortex's

Ever heard of Athlon? They will too. Better glass for the same or less $$ than Vortex.

    Binocular bargains

Wonder how that Ares compares to the Sightron Big Sky 8x32 that everyone seems to love?

    We don't sell vortex's

There's always something as good, or better than Vortex for the same or less money.

$1K binoculars experiences - Conquest HD, Monarch HG, Tract Toric, GPO Passion HD, Trinovid HD

At one point Tract was "the alpha killer" too, remember that one?

What's your favourite bins of all time..... and why?

Coming from a guy who proclaimed the NL Pure the greatest binocular with the best optics the world has ever seen. You can't make this stuff up.

What's your favourite bins of all time..... and why?

SLC 8x42. Easy, sharp, contrasty view, nice FOV, nice eye relief, USA lifetime warranty, great ergos, very well built, not overpriced (IMO). What's not to like?

Maven B1.2 or Meopta MeoPro Air?

Brink, you need to study up on Tract Optics then. Significantly less money than $1000 but they can hang with any of them at that price....for about $700. They are the real deal.

Maven B1.2 or Meopta MeoPro Air?

Speaking for myself, I'll take one of SteveC's posts over anything/everything Dennis has to offer.

Maven B1.2 or Meopta MeoPro Air?

Hey denco, why don't you cut the BS and just answer the OP's question instead of spewing your usual boatload of BS? Just answer his freaking question since you've tried both. Nobody believes your analysis anymore anyway, and rightfully so. To the OP, I find the Meopro Air very, very...

New Zeiss binos 8x40 SFL and 10x40 SFL

$1500 is a tough price point IMO. Lots of great entries in that range. I'm one that's been impressed with the Conquest HD's optics, but that's about it. The eyepieces are way too short for me and a whole bunch of potential buyers, and I'm sure that's the reason Zeiss acknowledged the...

The new ZEISS SFL Binoculars. Maximum Image Quality. Minimum Weight.

Reminds me of the Nikon MHG as well. Any chance these are another Japanese made Zeiss like the Conquest HD?

    Meopta Meostar B1 - 8 or 10x32 In Black ?

Agree Andy. Meopta made something similar for Trijicon a couple of years ago. Not sure if they still do, but the ergos were similar to that one.

Finally, I found a pair of Leica BN 8x32's on eBay.

Good post, and if I could offer one additional thing. Gils, you will have better luck setting a new world record in the 100 meter dash in the next Summer Olympics than attempting to reason with the OP.

Finally, I found a pair of Leica BN 8x32's on eBay.

If you had half a clue you'd realize you have no idea what your talking about (as usual just a bunch of bs). It's been noted several times on this very board that the actual FOV of the 8x42 Toric is wider than advertised. Both myself and SteveC actually measured and posted the actual...

The easy DIY eyecup mod for the Meostar 32mm you’ve been waiting for!

Good stuff! I used to do the same thing with large, long o-rings that fit just like that. Perfect!

Finally, I found a pair of Leica BN 8x32's on eBay.

A Tract Toric demo will cost around $500, and will easily run circles around the older BN's, optically speaking.

Amazed at the Customer Care from Vortex

Vortex ought to be good at it. They get lots of practice fixing broken stuff.

Finally, I found a pair of Leica BN 8x32's on eBay.

I hunted for 10+ years with a Leica 10x42BN. Fact is that most any $500 bino today has as good or better glass.
