    Seems to be all dark, which would be Bulwer's. I did much the same sort of trip many years ago & saw 2-3 Bulwer's. Tapered/ pointed tail was a good ID pointer.

    Also, it may have fluffed up its feathers due to it being cold and damp. This can give the effect of a larger bird.

    Both BHG & Med can live for over 20 years. I recall the longest lived BHG on record was about 32 years old. Therefore, a fair way to go yet!

    Hi, I'd go for Herring Gull on this one. Looks bulky & the bill in second pic isn't right for Common Gull - too big and too much black.

    It's used, or at least was, as an unofficial 'blog' for sightings & news in general at Upton Warren Nature Reserve. Things migrated to Twitter over the course of the lockdown & there is now also a web-page/ blog.
