    Tatty Great-Spotted Woodpecker

Hi Andy, like you I initially put it down to either being very grubby through the nest site itself or as you suggest a muddy bath. However after viewing him several times over quite a few days it didn’t appear to be looking any different and hence I started to believe it might actually be matted...

    Canon 1DX mk 2 or Canon R5 ?

I guess it’s very subjective but being caught in two minds I would welcome the thoughts of others. A friend of mine is selling his Canon 1DX mk 2 which I’m very tempted with. However I’m also very interested in the prospect of the Canon R5 which we are slowly getting more details on and am...

    Tatty Great-Spotted Woodpecker

I recently observed a very tatty looking Great-Spotted Woodpecker in the garden and initially put it down to it being the nesting period and getting grubby through repeated visits to the nest itself. However today I was able to grab this photograph which makes me have doubts about this. I'm not...

    Wood Anemone ?

To all intents and purposes this appeared to be a 'wild' woodland with bluebells & wild garlic etc. It was some miles way from housing etc although I guess it doesn't entirely rule out the possibility of cultivated plants even though these were quite widespread.

    Common Blue ?

I believe from memory the following are probably Common Blue but as I cannot see a forewing spot (in the photos) I'm now not sure this is certain. I would therefore appreciate any feedback or help in confirming a definite ID. Many Thanks

    Wood Anemone ?

I have read and even seen wood anemone a with faint tinge of pink before, but some of these were more pink with a faint tinge of white ! It might well be that they are indeed wood anemone but if so don't think I've seen them quite so pink previously.

    Wood Anemone ?

To all intents and purposes I would think these were Wood Anemones other than the Pink colouration. I cannot see any info about a Pink form so would appreciate any advice or feedback concerning the correct ID Many Thanks
