    Frodsham Marshes

Thanks for the help 🤗 I used something similar but ended up on a path that was so overgrown it disappeared. I’ll give it another go using the link and grid references you posted 👍🏻

    Frodsham Marshes

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how to access Frodsham Marshes? I've tried twice and, although I had nice walks, I didn't get near the tanks where the birds are. I suspect I could park where The Danny is and walk through the barrier, but I don't know if that's right, whether I can park there or...

    Spike Island Widnes Cheshire coast

These were in a pond near where the Mersey comes in from the sea. They were with drake mallards but didn’t look anything like female mallards. They were peach(?) in colour. There are supposed to be ruddy shelducks around there but these didn’t seem to fit for them.

    Hybrid Mallards?

    Thanks. I didn’t recognise them. 👍🏻

    Hybrid Mallards?

Hi. I saw these two in separate ponds in Altrincham, Cheshire. Both were with mallards. Are they hybrids or is the second one an escapee perhaps? Thanks in advance 👍🏻😀

    Danube Delta Tours March/April

Thanks, it sounds like a boat to Sulina is a good option. That might be really useful to know. Cheers! B (:

    Danube Delta Tours March/April

Thanks opisska! :t: So, are there regular ferries to Mila 23 for example? I like to explore, so 'turning up and seeing' sounds like the best option. I prefer being on a boat with a group though, so I'll look out for one of those.

    Danube Delta Tours March/April

SAFCA Delta Tours have said they have private tours earlier in the year. I can ring them to see if there are any spaces. I'm still a bit worried I'll be left high and dry, so I'll keep looking for something more solid. :egghead:

    Danube Delta Tours March/April

Hi everyone I’ve booked a holiday near Tulcea for March 30th to April 3rd. What I didn’t realise is that the boat tours don’t get started until May. |8.| Does anyone know if it’s possible to go on a boat tour round the delta in the spring, at a reasonable price? Thanks for any help :t: Andy

    Teach Reserve, France

I’ve got used to the fact that black-headed gulls haven’t got black heads, and purple sandpipers aren’t purple. Can blue-headed wagtails not have blue heads? :brains:

    Teach Reserve, France

Thanks Mike If it makes any difference, the passerine was flitting around a bush for a little while. It was very dainty.

Hi all I had a great time today at Teich Reserve, near Bordeaux. Can anyone I.D. these two please? One might be a mallard cross, but the other has me stumped... Thanks in advance:t:

    Bordeaux / Arcachon Question

Hi Richard. Yes, I will have a car. I'll be happy to drive up to 2 hours for somewhere good. I'd like to see anything I couldn't easily see in England, so not any specific bird. Thanks Andrew

    Bordeaux / Arcachon Question

Hi all I don't think this area is well explored, but I'm going next week and I'll have three full days to explore. I'm staying in Bordeaux, but one day I'm definitely going to the reserve at Plaines du Teich. Otherwise I'm not sure. Does anyone have any tips for me? Thanks in advance. :t:

Le Palud sur la Verdon is the gateway to the D23, route des cretes. Going clockwise (recommended) after 5 minutes there is a “belvedere “ or place to stop to admire the view. There were lots of Griffon Vultures quite close. It’s an awesome road with spectacular views, but there are places if you...

Quiet in terms of birds & humans. Blue tit Great Egret Carrion Crow Grey Heron Pheasant Grey Wagtail There is a hide fairly near the south end of the bridge in the reserve. Otherwise there are lots of paths. I’d recommend a weekday if possible as it’s a good place for families and dogs.

    Nice / Pegomas

Hi everyone I'm flying to Nice and staying in Pegomas (near Cannes) for a few days in October. It looks like a beautiful part of the world! Can anyone help me make best use of my time? I'll hire a little car so I'll have options. The map shows the following places, but there is little about...

    Mount Vitosha & Sofia Advice

I've got a great list of birds I might see at Dragoman Marsh, but I can't find much of a list for Mount Vitosha. The list above "Crossbills, Nutcrackers and Ravens should be easy with Willow and Coal Tits also around" makes me think there should be others too..? In May/June would there be...
