    I saw my first Firecrests, Med Gulls and a Lesser Scaup all on a holiday to Somerset and then to Dorset and Portland recently, with the first two being my main bogey birds. I also saw a lot of other nice birds but none of the others were lifers.

    Managed to see my first Bewick's Swan yesterday, which was my worst bogey bird by a long mile. They're not at all common up here in Scotland, and it was very surprising to see one 10 miles north of Aberdeen at the Ythan.

    Thank you guys. Birdboybowley, yes I have been to South Africa, and I did see Hoopoe. That's interesting that most authorities split it, should I tick it? ;)

    One British tick in the form of Brambling, as well as Water Pipit and Short-eared Owl added both to the British List and Life List.

    White-winged Black Tern has been added to the life list after the distant Black Tern I saw on Saturday was re-indentified as a White-winged Black.

    Thanks very much birdboybowley. I actually wrote the life list on Microsoft Word earlier this year. I just update it every time I see a new lifer. ;)
