    Choosing pocket binoculars

Until very recently I too owned the HGL 10x25 and can whole heartedly recommended them. Fantastic optics and build quality. The ergonomics can take a little getting used to but soon becomes second nature. I've only recently replaced them with a pair of UV 10x25 which I obtained for a good...

    Store in UK?

Last week I visited CleySpy. They have excellent facilities to try the equipment and extensive stock of binoculars & scopes, Zeiss, Leica, Swarovski, Kowa, Nikon etc. Also the area around Norfolk is blessed with superb Nature reserves.

Looking for a pair of pocket binoculars

Back in 2011, I was in New York and took the opportunity to go to BH and compare 8 x 20 compacts. I own a pair of Nikon 8x20 HGL (LX) and wanted to compare against Swaro, Zeiss Victory and Leica Ultravid. I came away very pleased that there is very little difference optically between the...

ZR 7x36 ED2 sweet spot question.

    8x32 alphas ?

I've owned both the FL 8x32 and EDG(2) 8x32. The FL is a terrific, compact binocular, but a bit tight on eye relief (for me). The Nikon EDG is larger but handles well. The image is as sharp as the FL, to the edge, and eye relief is much better for me. I also like the colour rendition of the...

    Nikon Premier CA

I owned the 8 x 32 HGL. They were great, except the high level of (for me) CA. I now own the 8x32 EDG (2). Same great view, no CA.
