    This is a beautiful photograph of a bird that never stay still unless I have not got my camera with me, glad you were with your camera and scope. There may be lots of Pied Wagtails around but only a few photo's this good.

    Reminds me of some beautiful Japanese paintings I once saw years ago. They belong to a friend who asked me to photograph them for him. I took some B/W and must have the negatives somewhere. Think this would look great as a large black & white print on a wall.

    Taken with Canon D30 I used manual focus as auto did not keep up with the bird in A1 servo. Timing ok but not quite in focus. Have just got a Canon 20d hope to do better with as it has Nine points of focus but D 30 only has three

    Not really cheating , anything that improves the photo is fair. Wagtails are quite tricky birds as they move very unpredictably. Looks like you have soon mastered your 20D!

    Briefly saw this bird on a feeder near a reed bed at the edge of a lake Shutter speed to slow and focus out but a Robin scared it away before i could get a better shot

    Christine, it is the photographer,NOT the camera that takes the picture However good craftsmen/women will get the best with good tools. your photograph of the sparrows is first class and reflects both the camera and your own ability. well done
