I haven't got around using my H5 that much. Been a bit intimidated with the controls. Coming from LS12 it is a lot harder to quickly delete or quickly listen to your recording. The speaker is horrible to say the least.
I will use it for proper recordings when on my own and for post processing...
Canon 90D with Sigma 100-400
This morning a friend popped over. It was too late in the day for good light but Itook him out for a bit as he is new to shooting birds.
The camera was a Canon 90D and the lens Sigma 100-400.
We took the shots from the car and did not spend much time in the field...
Hi ...here is an update...
Had my gear turned in to Canon for their views.
1. Camera, 7D2.....mainboard needs replacement, dial wheel component needs replacement, the program knob needs replacement. Cost 800 US$.
2. The 100-400 Markii.....mount needs replacement, lens front needs replacement...
I'd also like to ask about the repairs to your current gear if you're happy to detail. They seem quite expensive as a proportion of purchase price - is there any indication of the root cause of the problems ?
The body (7D2) has a number of problems. 1. the wheel that is on top by the...
Thank you my friends.....I have now spent some time looking in to the options at hand. Not fully decided yet but there is no question anymore as to what is the best lens. Clearly the Sony 200-600 is the lens of choice. Very sharp, well balanced and inexpensive. The camera is more of a challenge...
I have a 7DMarkii that is diagnosed with a faulty motherboard. The camera is well used and inspite of having serviced it at a cost of 500dollar US some time back it now needs a major overhaul to keep. I think this is not an option. It has served me well for 5 years now.
I also have 100-400mm...
I have used Olympus LS12 with ME66 for some time now.
The problem with the cable is very persistent. Much like regular earphones they break very easily.
Is this a problem that would go away using a recorder with XLR ability?
If so, what is a recommended device? I use my gear for birds...
I have an LS 12 but it is rather slow to start up. I use it with a regular Sennheizer microphone.
I want a back up recorder, a simple one that I can just pull out quickly and do an immediate recording. The reason being is that I mostly go birding and have the camera with me, thus it...
I have 3 tripods....all of them with that one screw to hold the scope in place.
All of them come loose all the time when in the field.
I have a KOWA TSN 883......
Besides drilling a hole in the foot of the scope and the plate is there another solution? This must be a common problem.
I would not get a recorder that doesnt have a built in speaker for fast playback.
The external mike is a must if you are serious about recording. If it is only to record to learn the sounds it might be ok without it but not for sharing and using as proper play back.
I am happy with my gear.
a year of usage
I have now used my Sennheizer 66 and Olympus LS12 with no windjammer or tripod for well over a year. I am quite pleased to have such a handy tool in my waist pouch.
