    Spotted Sandpiper

Damn it yes that was the bird, glad I held off ticking it in my funny book. Surprised bird guides put it on if there was a doubt. Ah well, back to the drawing board. Thank god I was only 15 mins away, would have hated some birders to have travelled down any distance. Thanks for clarifying. Matt...

    Spotted Sandpiper

No Jane it's a spotted sandpiper. A friend of mine and another birder got permission to enter the dock and got pictures and id conformation. See bird guides Suffolk for photos. I thank you.

Great to have the Spotted Sandpiper confirmed yesterday. Managed to see it briefly at Landguard viewpoint but vanished soon after. A fantastic bird for Suffolk that's for sure.

I used my Swarovski ATX 95 with DCB I I adapter. The camera was at its widest angle and the Swarovski was zoomed around halfway. Matt

First trials with Sony RX100 II

Just back from Bempton/Flamborough and quite pleased with the Sony RX for video scoping. These 2 Fulmars were filmed admittedly not doing much but when the Fulmar yawns you can actually see the warm breath from its beak opening. Best viewed in 720 HD. No video editing, just raw footage. Thanks...

    Balance rail

Am using a Swarovski ATX 95 with DCB mk 2 on a Manfrotto fluid head. I will soon be getting a Sony RX100 and would like to know if this setup will be tail heavy and require a balance rail. Thanks, Matt
