    Baikal teal

This bird forum is so dead. Not even a mention of the MEGA Baikal teal at March Farmers yesterday evening.

Great to have the Spotted Sandpiper confirmed yesterday. Managed to see it briefly at Landguard viewpoint but vanished soon after. A fantastic bird for Suffolk that's for sure.

First trials with Sony RX100 II

Just back from Bempton/Flamborough and quite pleased with the Sony RX for video scoping. These 2 Fulmars were filmed admittedly not doing much but when the Fulmar yawns you can actually see the warm breath from its beak opening. Best viewed in 720 HD. No video editing, just raw footage. Thanks...

Can you just confirm these 2 are common Eider. Seen 2 days ago at Flamborough head. Sorry about the quality of the photos. Thanks, Matt

    Balance rail

Am using a Swarovski ATX 95 with DCB mk 2 on a Manfrotto fluid head. I will soon be getting a Sony RX100 and would like to know if this setup will be tail heavy and require a balance rail. Thanks, Matt

Weight is not a problem as i am used to carrying an 800mm F5.6 with big Gitzo and Wimberley head so that's not an issue...

    Advice please

Can someone recommend a decent tripod and head for my soon to arrive Swarovski ATX 85. I would ideally like carbon and have around £300 to spend. Thanks, Matt
