It may be apocryphal but when I stayed at Okaukuejo in the 90's there was a story that a guest had decided to sleep in the outside B-B-Q area immediately in front of the entrance to his 'hut' and had been killed / taken by a Lion. It certainly kept me inside in the hours of darkness so possibly...
I knew I was in for some memory jogging: I could almost feel the heat and isolation of Solitaire and fondly remember the whole Sossusvlei experience - the Namib had been one of my most wanted places to see. Thanks.
