Canon EF 600mm f/4 DO BR lens

There might have been a zero too much...:t: Anyway, just extrapolating price (by focal length) from the current 400/4 DO ($7.5k) brings you to $11k. With additional weight savings, I would not even be surprised if initial price would hit the $15k mark for a 600/4 @ 2-2.5kg.

Canon EF 600mm f/4 DO BR lens

A 600/4 DO will be the new super premium pro lens, made in Japan for sure. So no china-made-rebated price here, no doubt it will be $120k+. Refractive version might remain as a "cheaper" alternative.

Canon EF 600mm f/4 DO BR lens

A 600mm/f4 DO that is 1 kg lighter than the current refractive version, that would be expensive, if to be released today, sounds more like the next generation lens.

Canon EF 600mm f/4 DO BR lens

It's not official-official, but credible info from people who have been in contact with Canon.

Canon EF 600mm f/4 DO BR lens

The incentive for Canon making a 600mm/f4 DO EF just dropped to close to zero.

Canon EF 600mm f/4 DO BR lens

Canon say they are using a new standard to measure the lenses. And old lenses will be re-measured...:eek!: I hope Canon realize that they have a communication problem here... MTF:s without telling what units (lp/mm) etc. used are pretty useless. Would be strange if they are that much worse than...

Canon EF 600mm f/4 DO BR lens

Nikon will be laughing all the way to the bank when looking at those MTF:s. :-O

Canon EF 600mm f/4 DO BR lens

Poor Sony...8-P 20% lighter, 20% more expensive... A Nikon 800/5.6 FL E has never been more tempting...
