New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

A new SLC 8x32 would be exciting. I would be tempted to buy one o:)

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

Yep I knew you were imagining the 'neu' version. Next came SLC HD which was green and black. The current version is just called SLC and all green.

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

CJ (post 511), "SLC - closed unitary body" This sounds like the shape of the old SLC (with front focus). The current SLC has an H shape body.

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

the marketing guys said 'don't mess with the legend' when asked whether EL will still be on offer. Well sure seems like they are messing with it by changing specs to get people to buy the NL. What a rotten thing to do to diminish the EL this way. Begs the question will they subtly tweak down...

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

I assume you have the newer CL b which are very nice indeed. The one I tried briefly had a nice precise focus and practically the same ergonomic feel as the original. I don't feel any need to go up from the original even though some things may be a little better in the new one. I've spent too...

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

lol ... after using both for a few months, I found I wanted to keep using the CL each time I went out. The FL is superior optically and focus is faster and a bit nicer, but I just enjoyed the CL more for its ergonomics, lighter weight and especially its colors. I realized I didn't need the FL...

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

My Ultravid HD+ 7x42 had a super smooth focus. No issues and not clunky at all. Perhaps try another 8x32 HD+. The Plus version supposedly has improved focus.

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

Yep, I'm in the same boat now only using lighter and smaller binos. My birding is more casual anyway and as I get older I really appreciate the lighter weight. I'm down to just the lowly original CL 8x30 with its narrow FOV and relatively 'soft' image, but I really enjoy it; I especially like...

If this happens, apply a torniquet, seek medical advice and then self-isolate for 14 days. Lee and wear a mask ! ;)

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

Swaro always seemed to inovate new designs and others seemed mimick their designs; EL with its open bridge design and all the copy cats followed. Even the original CL at the time with its relatively thin bridge had a bunch of copy cats follow. Old SLC had a front focuser but not too many...

But Torview, all of the cool nerds are doing it. Just imagine if it cracks and you need to put white tape on it :-O

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

CJ, Who are you right now? Will the real Chosun pleas stand up? Where's the criticism of the over the top marketing ? "no edges"?? Another big heavy bin. You're usually as disappointed as I am. Where's the usual comments about using lighter materials? Most alarming of all is the copy of SF focus...

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

Yep I'm not excited about it either for similar reasons. Another big heavy super expensive bino. I wish Swaro would have designed something a bit more unique as they've done in the past. Instead it's a clear response to Zeiss and copies a bit from SF. But I guess super wide FOV is where it's at...

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

I can see EL still selling well despite the introduction of the NL. Only those who have the money and want the very best Swarovski will pay the big bucks for the NL. So maybe they won't even make an NL 32. I would have been more excited about a new SLC 8x32, but this may never happen when...

New Product Introduction Today From Swarovski ?

These are very expensive. I wonder will they keep the EL around or does the NL replace it? I still like the look of the EL better, but the NL looks pretty nice too. I thought the hourglass shape was weird at first but it could possibly make a more ergonomic grip. The focus position seems like...
