    I think the sandgrouse are being seen as flyovers at dusk and the drinking area is not yet known, I would have hoped some of the reeds at KM19 would get trimmed back to give the regular birds there more space to come down

    Hi Paul Israel really isn't a difficult birding destination despite the occasional 'flare up'.     Excellent Read, I'll have to add Kalia to the list of places not yet visited that deserve a visit. I'm back in a couple of weeks with a start in the north so perhaps I'll stop here on my drive south to Eilat instad of my planed stop of Mt. Amasa, save that for another day.
