Does the Head Rest help on the NL 8x42?

A baseball cap brim will bump the headrest only if you wear your cap closer to your eyebrows.

NL Pure 8x32 and NL Pure 10x32!

You could be right regarding the NL32 not being a major step up from the binoculars you own. However, the NL42 WAS a major step up, IMO, over the 42El, which I didn't expect, either. (I have no reference points with regards to the SF.) I guess we will all have to wait until May to find...

I probably would have used blue LockTite, instead of epoxy.

How tight is NL Pure's rubber armour

I just checked my Nl. Mine also shows that spongey play in the armour especially in the wasp waist area. I don't think I am going to worry about it. I hadn't noticed this before you pointed this out.

NL Pure 8x32 and NL Pure 10x32!

While your pictures show what may be a similar feeling of the 32NL and the 42Nl in the hands, it remains to be seen whether the front of the 32Nl allows enough barrel room below the bridge for very large hands. It could be a problem for some.

I Like the Field Pro System

I was using the objective covers until one of them spontaneously tore away on my 6 week old 8x42 NL. Swaro, of course, is sending me a new pair, but if the replacements don't last longer, I will likely go without them in the future.

NL Pure 8x32 and NL Pure 10x32!

The orange color might help birders stand out enough not to be mistaken for prey by a hunter.

NL Pure 8x32 and NL Pure 10x32!

I suppose we can differ on what works for everyone. I use a harness for hikes, which makes any weight difference not noticeable for me. Moving my own body weight up that path is more of an issue, than the weight of the binoculars. Now, if I could reduce my own weight some, that would make a...

NL Pure 8x32 and NL Pure 10x32!

I don't believe, although the size and weight has gone up with the 32 NL, that Swarovski has forgotten the end user. Size and weight isn't everything. More important, IMO, are the superb ergonomics and balance of the NL's, which more than make up for the size or weight increase. While I...

NL Pure 8x32 and NL Pure 10x32!

Jan said that it was a dull day. Would a smaller EP with the 32 Nl make it seem less bright under those conditions than with the 42Nl?

NL Pure 8x32 and NL Pure 10x32!

Typically, most Swaro dealers reduce the list price by about 10 percent. So you might be looking at $2499 for the 8 x 32 NL.. So the difference between the NL and SF is roughly $250.

NL Pure 8x32 and NL Pure 10x32!

According to Swarovski optik the 8x32 Nl is priced at $2,777. The 10x32 N,l at $2832.

NL Pure 8x32 and NL Pure 10x32!

Jan, Were you looking at the 10 x32 or the 8x42 Nl? If the former, did you have any eye placement difficulties?

NL Pure 8x32 and NL Pure 10x32!

I am glad to see that the wasp waist on the x32 Nl is less pronounced than with the x42 Nl. It will allow more room for large hands with gloves. However, the focusing mechanism on the x32Nl appears to be the same size as the x42 Nl. That leaves less barrel room for the width of your hands. I...

Swarovski NL Pure 10x42 Are there supply issues?

I think that part of the customer expectation that the headrest is included in the price are the pictures of the Nls that are on-line on the Swarovski Optic web site as well as on most of the Swaro dealers. In every listing of the binoculars there is always a picture showiing the headrest...

Swarovski NL Pure 10x42 Are there supply issues?

If you haven't given the 8 x 42 NL a serious try, I would. I initially tried 8.5 x 42 EL, which felt bulky and poorly balanced in my hands. So I exchanged them for the 8 x 32 EL, and thought I had found the perfect fit for me. But I had to try the Nl's that many raved about. Immediately...

    Swarovski NL Pure pricing strategies?

II also like to support local dealers, especially if they took the time to demo the item to me. However, I have no local dealers who carry the Nl. Even if I did, I would hate to pay the state sales tax on a such an expensive binocular. There are a few out of state dealers who will wave the...

    Is a 50mm NL likely?

Where is the rumor of a soon to be released x32 Nl coming from? I had called Swarovski (SONA) and asked about it, just a few days ago. Of course, they denied knowing when or if a x32 Nl was in the works. Personally, I wonder if a x32 Nl was made with the same ergonimics as the x42 Nl, would...

I Like the Field Pro System

There is no cord with the Nls, unlike the Els. The Nls actually have a more sturdy strap attachment with the same button/pin. So you can't melt the excess strap like you can with the El cords. The Nls also have a different kind of adjuster, which is a lever that lifts to adjust the strap...

I Like the Field Pro System

Now that I am accustomed to the FP system, the only thing I don't like are the dangling excess straps on each side. I considered cutting them shorter, but didn't want the remaining ends to fray. I wish there was a way of reattaching the plastic caps onto the new ends.

    NL pure 10x vs 8x

By being less settled when panning with the 8x42 Nl, are you referring to RB effect, or possibly blackouts?
  23. B

    NL pure 10x vs 8x

Why do you feel the Nl caters in particular to eyeglass wearers? I have tried my 8 x 42 Nls both with and without glasses. Other than needing to fine tune the eyecups, I don't have a problem with either.

    NL pure 10x vs 8x

I suppose 133 m is good for a 10 x 42 Nl, but really not the FOV of an average 8 x42. Personally, I don't see much difference in magnification between 8x and 10x Nl. On the other hand, I see a tremendous difference in FOV between the two Nls. It is exactly this record breaking 158 m FOV...

    NL pure 10x vs 8x

If you can afford to own two of them, perhaps you could own all three? Seriously, if I could afford only two of them, I would buy the 8 x 42 NL for it's wide field of view and the 12 x 42 NL with the FHP, which provides less FOV but provide a greater step up in magnification. than going from...
