Possible result of inbreeding? The Florida Panther is not a true subspecies anymore with a lot of gene pool mixed with the Texas subspecies. However, before this happened in the 90s, the population was down to barely 1 or 2 dozen animals. So maybe it could be linked to the limited gene pool...
