Optica Exotica - really good youtube channel for binocular reviews

I really enjoyed his videos and a little perturbed he deleted his channel and videos. His subscribers and viewers got screwed. You Tube could care less.

    Ordered 10x42 Conquest HD (Again)

Glassing some whitetail deer (background just above house) on a distant hillside. Interestingly enough the blackening of the interior of this set is excellent. I had a pair of SFs that had an annoying reflective glare inside the eye piece in certain lighting.

    Ordered 10x42 Conquest HD (Again)

Looking for problems is not a good practice IMO cause you might end up “pole vaulting over mouse turds”. For example, the rolling ball effect with ELs everyone talks about was absolutely a non issue for me. Of course I didn’t go looking for every single issue people talk about online. I opened...

    Ordered 10x42 Conquest HD (Again)

The pair of ELs I owned were very very nice. I will say the focus was a bit slow when quickly moving between far and near. The Conquests have a faster focus which I like BUT….the ELs are easier to really get perfect focus if time permits.

    Ordered 10x42 Conquest HD (Again)

Oh we have lots of bright sun and clear skies. High pressure can set up have and gave several days of sunshine. With that said, glare has never been a big concern with a previous pair of Conquests.

    Ordered 10x42 Conquest HD (Again)

Got my 10x42s in yesterday and did a brief viewing this morning out the back deck at the golf course here in Tennessee US (all Jack Daniels is distilled an hour drive away). I’m reminded why the Conquest 10x42s are the “Goldilocks” of binos for me. For $1K I get an ergonomically sound pair of...

Haha hobbyists like to try different gear. Thanks for the drive by useless thread post. I usually just don’t say anything.

I’ll probably get NL Pures soon.

    Ordered 10x42 Conquest HD (Again)

After owning and selling Victory SF and Swaro ELs over the past year, I’m heading back to the Conquest HDs. Alpha glass holds it resale value well so when life takes turns or a new project comes about, it’s easy to part with alphas knowing you can come back. The Conquests have suited me very...

Terra HD 10x42s...You Know These Actually Are Pretty Good

I’ve got Monarch 7s (not the M7s) and the 8 degree viewing angle is nice.

I wonder if they compare to Nikon Monarch 5s or 7s

Terra HD 10x42s...You Know These Actually Are Pretty Good

Ive been in Conquests HDs, Victory SFs and Swaro ELs but I let them go for other projects. I'm currently down to Nikon Monarch 7s and Terra HDs. I'll be back in a pair of Conquest HDs soon, considering I find them to have a high value to performance ratio. With that said, these Terras arent...

Zeiss Terra 8x25 Chinese production - holding up?

Sold some Swaros for cash and rocking my son’s Terra 10x42s for a few months. Honestly, not bad. Sharp and fast focus. My only gripe is they didn’t do a great job completely blackening out the eye piece interior. I get a reflective “rim” in my periphery in certain lighting.

    EL opinions

I’m grateful that I’m not affected by or even really notice the “rolling ball” effect. Just another pair of binoculars to me with really good glass.

Just got my 8.5 x 42 set in. This is plenty of glass for me. Clarity is incredible.

    EL opinions

I elected to get the EL vs the NL Pure due to cost. I ordered some grey market NL Pures but sent them back cause I want the North American warranty.

Anyone know why Swarovski went with 8.5 vs 8x in the EL?

EL 8.5x42 vs. NL 8x32 - only pair

Eco friendly armor that degrades and removing water repellent coatings from lenses because they aren’t good for the environment? Eventually the binoculars are going to be made out of biodegradable paper and the lenses edible.

Grey Market: NL Pure Taste on an SF Budget

Annnnndddd I am going to return the grey market NL Pures and go with 8.5x42 ELs from an authorized Swaro dealer.

Grey Market: NL Pure Taste on an SF Budget

Thank you in advance for posting links where this has already been discussed. I’ve already read some of those threads. I’d like to open a new discussion more precisely about grey market Swaros.

Grey Market: NL Pure Taste on an SF Budget

I bought a pair of NL Pures from eBay at a discounted rate. Seller is 6th Ave Electronics. After doing research, I feel like I need to take a shower to wash off the filth. I just ordered some illicitly imported Swaros pimped out on the US market. I wouldn’t be surprised if the packaging smells...
