    Kruger private bird guides

Going to Kruger next month and have already booked some guided outings via Sanparks. While staying at Punda Maria I particularly want to see Pennant-winged Nightjar. It would have to be guided because of the camp curfew times so I've booked a couple of night drives but my concern is that if...

    Unknown Swift

I know it's a bit ridiculous, but if anyone is able to see enough in this out of focus and distant swift to ID it, I'd be grateful :) I didn't notice it when watching the kite at the time in Sri Lanka.

Some Sri Lankan birds. ID help appreciated!

Hi, just returned from a trip to Sri Lanka. I have a small number of birds that I'd really appreciate some identification help with. Not sure if this was a good idea, but I've stuck them all into one image...

Bird ID help please - Costa Rica

Hi Can anyone ID these birds please? All the photos are poor I'm afraid. White-shouldered Tanager perhaps for one of them, or have I got the wrong family altogether? All seen on the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica in January. Many thanks :)

    Southern Spain

In June my wife and I will be visiting southern Spain for a 'relaxing beach holiday'. It was a small price to pay for a completely wildlife focussed trip to Costa Rica earlier this year. But now that we're getting closer to June, the prospect of pools and beaches for a week isn't doing it for...

    Costa Rican frogs

I hope posting so many in one go is ok. I've left it a couple of months since returning from CR to post these as I was trying to work them out for myself, but I admit defeat!

    Costa Rica

I've recently returned from an excellent couple of weeks in Costa Rica. So far I've managed to identify 148 birds, and I believe these are the only 2 that I haven't been able to put a name to (I took a lot of photos though, so another one or two might turn up!). The bird facing right was at...

    Another 'hello' post

Hi I've been lurking in these boards for a while on and off, and already know and have met a number of the members here, so I thought it was about time I created an account and said hello :) I'm based in the Forest of Dean, England. Much of my time is spent here as well as further afield in...
