This is where it gets into the murky area of imprecise terminology, but I don't think a reflection off the oculars would cause what people think of as "veiling glare". In my experience they show up more as defined spots of glare, whereas "veiling glare" is more of a broad, milky crescent...

Especially since glare/flare (unlike other subjective things people disagree about) can be assessed objectively. You can have controlled test conditions and take a photo of the exit pupil, and it will be there or it won’t.

I'm with you there -- my IPD is relatively narrow (around 61-62mm) and for this reason I've never gotten along with "open bridge" binoculars. When the bridges get that close, especially when the tubes are thicker, it largely negates the ergonomic advantage of of the open bridge design. My...

That's why I've been wary of the 7x42 EDG, the flat field restricts what is already a lesser AFOV inherent to the lower magnification. 7/8x42 ultravid hd+ vs swarovski el42?

As a little demo of the superb glare control, I am out on a little sunset stroll at a local park and decided to snap a quick iPhone photo comparison. One shot is through the 7x42 UVHD and the other is just with the iPhone, taken seconds apart. As you can see, that white truck was DIRECTLY under...

    7/8x42 ultravid hd+ vs swarovski el42?

IMO - yes, the Ultravids (and Noctovid) provide a viable "alpha" alternative to the Swaro EL. Are they "better"? I think at this level it's much more about relative strengths and weaknesses in relation to your personal preferences, there's no point in arguing which is "best" among all these...
