How do you carry your binoculars?

I’ve been using the Marsupial Gear enclosed harness for 2.5 months now with my NL12’s. I was using it up in the GA and VA mountains at the end of winter and now down in the FL heat. It’s still my favorite way to carry binos. I don’t sweat any more with the harness than without it. I took my...

How do you carry your binoculars?

Yeah if you have the headrest you’ll want the medium. Otherwise the NL12’s fit fine in a small with the eyecups not extended. It will go in them with the eyecups extended to the fourth position where I use them but it’s just very tight getting the magnet to latch. That’s why I went medium to try...

How do you carry your binoculars?

My enclosed marsupial harness came in last week and I’ve used it on four hikes now. This thing is the ticket. I went with the medium this time because the small standard pack was just a little tighter than I’d like with the NL’s and the eye cups where I like them. It’s a little longer than it...

How do you carry your binoculars?

Exactly, especially when people poopoo stuff they haven’t even tried. Not to mention the fact that simple body type differences can make a difference. I have very broad thick shoulders and even the swaro comfort strap doesn’t work for me for long. More than a half hour dangling from my neck it...

How do you carry your binoculars?

What’s so complex about a bag that takes no longer to lift a flap up and access than removing a rain guard from a pair dangling on a neck strap while offering full protection? Or a bag that is just as fast to bring the binos up from with the flap clipped open as a neck strap with no rain guard...

How do you carry your binoculars?

https://www.mysteryranch.com/quick-draw-binocular-harness It’s that one. The Marsupial is a way nicer harness for not a whole lot more money. Everything about it is better from the harnesses, the way it closes, the extra pockets.

How do you carry your binoculars?

Even if all you do is scuff the coating you lose performance. If you scratch through the coating you lose the coating performance on the scratch and if you scratch the glass you have distortion. You buy alpha glass for very small gains over over glass, if it’s jacked up then what’s the point...

How do you carry your binoculars?

When you scratch the lens or just the coating you lose optical performance… You can deploy them in an instant from a good chest pouch too. You seem very set in your ways though so I’m not going to try to convince you.

How do you carry your binoculars?

If you’re out on a nice paved trail in perfect weather maybe not, but otherwise protection is good. I’m hiking on slick trails often that can also be goat paths, up and down large rocks, all while having a dog pulling me a lot of the time. There’s a lot of opportunities to have a mishap with...

How do you carry your binoculars?

The flap is held with magnets, you flip it and pull them out. Nothing is as fast as binos on your chest on just a strap or in your hand with no rain guard or objective covers, but it's as fast as you're going to deploy anything with any level of protection. If you get the standard version and...

How do you carry your binoculars?

This is the enclosed version of the Marsupial pack. It offers full protection from the elements while being fast to deploy. They have another version with some of the side material removed that makes it even faster. I have a mystery ranch bag too but it's more tailored to smaller binos like...

How do you carry your binoculars?

This has happened to me numerous times. We'll be hiking and see a raptor soar over the mountain where you only get a glimpse for a few seconds and I don't even bother trying to get them out.

How do you carry your binoculars?

I actually really like the side bag that comes with them, but it certainly doesn't lend itself to quick access. I ordered another Marsupial gear chest bag to use with them that will hopefully be here soon and also replace the factory comfort strap which I hate compared to the one that came with...
