    12X42 NL Pure resale value

Again, much hunting do you do and how many hunters do you know or have interacted with? Interesting you dodged my question but I’d suspect it’s because you have no experience with it. Go to any gun store and ask the counter guy what sells the most for hunting rifles and optics. Counter guys...

    12X42 NL Pure resale value

How much hunting do you do and how many hunters do you know? Or does reading articles make you an expert on everything. 90% of hunters don’t buy high end stuff. I see what they buy, most are rocking vortex diamondbacks and bruntons for binos.

    12X42 NL Pure resale value

Some do spend money on top tier stuff but most don’t. Most hunters are buying $500 rugers and savages and putting $200 vortex’s on top of them. I’ve been in hunting and shooting sports since I was 10.

    12X42 NL Pure resale value

Hunters like all sorts of binos and most can’t afford or justify $3K+.

    12X42 NL Pure resale value

No idea, the used values here just aren’t the same as hunting forums. Maybe people there appreciate a good deal more? I just decided I don’t need them along with EL 8.5’s and EL Range TA 10x42’s and they were the ones getting used the least as of recent so they went on the chopping block.

    12X42 NL Pure resale value

Glass doesn’t bring the prices here as some of the firearm and hunting forums. I sold my NL 12’s recently on snipershide for $3K which was only about $100 less than I paid for them after tax. They also sold in a day or two.

    EL Range 8x42 info wanted

I don’t really care what you “investigated”, I spent my hard earned money on a new pair of them in 2016 and they completely sucked and yes there was a noticeable difference in the colors between the two barrels and I’m not the only one who has owned them and had the same complaints. It was an...

    EL Range 8x42 info wanted

The original EL Range which would be that year range were absolutely terrible, as were the revision. The glass absolutely sucks in them. I had the gen 2 of them in 10x42 and they do not compare to the standard EL at all. The overall image quality isn’t there, there isn’t field flattening, and...

    Swarovski eye candy...

How do the NL and EL compare FOV and ergos aside. I’ve seen EL SV FP’s as low as $1200 in great shape. There’s just none right now of course.

    Swarovski eye candy...

I’ve got some catching up to do. How do the CL companions, 8x32 EL, and 8x32 NL compare? One of them is going to be my next purchase along with an ATC.

What do beginners notice most when looking through binoculars.

The majority of the people I hand a pair of binos to make a comment about how WOW the view is in some way or another and many I have to show how to bend the hinges to fit them, and how to work the focus wheel. They’re usually my EL 8.5’s since that’s what I grab the most because they’re always...

    Swarovski UTAs Binocular Adapter

Embarrassed because you made stupid assumptions about someone because they don’t agree with your assessment of a Bino mount? Someone’s sensitive.

    Swarovski UTAs Binocular Adapter

They’re used for long range shooting and I also did a lot of night hunting for predators. I don’t hunt birds.

    Swarovski UTAs Binocular Adapter

I live on the gulf coast, most of my birding is on the gulf feet from the water, there’s almost always a breeze or light wind. I use nothing but RRS tripods and heads, I shoot up to 25lbs rifles on them at distances as far as a mile, if there’s a more solid tripod then I’m not aware of it. As to...

    Swarovski UTAs Binocular Adapter

When they're on a tripod you still have to direct them somehow as well as manipulate the focus. Also hand hands on them for stability to reduce wind shake. That is nowhere near as comfortable in the cage vs on an outdoorsmans stud and adaptor.

    Swarovski UTAs Binocular Adapter

Get both, there’s no reason to cut corners over $100 accessories when using $3K binos. I use the stud and adaptor for my NL’s because it’s just phenomenal to use and then the UTA for others without studs or not easily studable. I’ve got the RRS and Aziak clamps too but they both blow, they...

    Swarovski UTAs Binocular Adapter

The UTA will fit the NL’s, but the outdoorsmans stud and their binocular adaptor is a far better setup. You can still hold the binos like you would freehand which is much more natural than a bulky cage around them.

    Optics quality expectations

Me too, so I just buy them in quality binos. Life’s too short to use sub par glass.

NL Pure 10x42 in the rain

My NL's have had no problem in the rain. The only time they'll fog up is if I walk out of 70 degree air conditioning into the 90+ degree humid Florida summer and they haven't adjusted to ambient temperature but literally every optic will do that as there's no coating that can prevent external...

    Swarovski EL SALE

I bought mine for $1900 + tax at the end of last year ($100 less than the current “sale” price) but Swaro did have a price increase since then.

15x56 in stead of spotting scope?

Not saying they do, but they absolutely can replace a pair of 8x and 15x binos.
  22. R

15x56 in stead of spotting scope?

If you want the best of both world get some NL 12's.
  23. R

Technical description of this behaviour of my Swarovski 8x56?

That's how I've always ran the eyecups on my binos when on at tripod including SLC's and now my NL 12x42's. Yes the NL's work that way too.

Problem with green coating of EL SV 8x32

Yes, so much that I ordered $4K EL Range TA’s yesterday with zero hesitation. This issue is blown out of proportion. To begin with it’s very very isolated and not “common” considering how many are out there. Swarovski will also fix it for free and is great to deal with. If you want to see...

You can’t have high expectations with bargain bin stuff.
